It is a hut in Tokuzawa for use by mountain climbers who walked from Kamikochi to Yari and Hotaka and wanted to take a break.

In 1934, before being designated as Chubu-Sangaku National Park, it is the predecessor of a building that was the hut of a ranch.

The Mt. Mae-hotaka-dake eastern wall which can be seen from the campground smack in front of you is known as the stage for Inoue Yasushi’s novel “The Ice Wall” and a model of the ‘Tokusawa koya” that appears in the novel is this hut.
