Access to Takase Dam & Nanakura-sanso Mountain Hut

【Takase Dam & Nanakura-sanso Mountain Hut / Trailhead to Uraginza Panorama Route, Funakubo-koya Mountain hut & Yumata Onsen】

The Trailheads to the deepest part of the Alps begin here.
One is a Trailhead from Nanakura-sanso. Private cars can come as far as here.
The Mt. Nanakura-dake trailhead leads to the Funakubo-koya mountain hut.

From here it takes about 3 hours to ascend to Nigori-sawa using the trailhead of the Ura Ginza traverse trail.
Taxis will operate during the summer only up to the trail leading to the Takase Dam (will take about 15 minutes).
Yumata Onsen, where many wild monkeys are found is a 3 hour walk from Takase Dam along the Takase River.
By train, you will go direct from Shinano-Omachi Station to Takase Dam (about 45 minutes).
