Access to Shinano Omachi

【Shinano Omachi】

The mountainous city of Omachi is the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route on the Nagano Prefecture side. Using public transportation, you can get here on the JR Oito Line or take a bus from Nagano Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line. From Nagano Station, it takes one hour and 10 minutes by bus to Ogisawa, which is where the Alpine Route starts. From Matsumoto, it also takes about one hour on the Oito Line. When the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is open during the season, there is also a bus that operates between Shinano-Omachi Station and Ogisawa. A shuttle bus from Matsumoto Airport will take you directly to the famous Omachi Onsenkyo hot spring village, and if you use JR, it is on the bus route heading to Ogisawa. To get to the Ura Ginza Panorama Route, take a taxi from Omachi Station to Takase Dam. Along the way you will pass Nanakura-sanso mountain hut and the hidden hot spring, Kuzu Onsen. You can also follow the Shionomichi Trail and see historical remnants throughout the town.
