【Otomekeikoku:Mt.kohide-yama Trailhead】
Otome Keikoku, which means “maiden’s ravine,” is at the trailhead to Mt. Kohide-yama, one of Japan’s most famous 200 mountains. It is a 10-minute drive from Rte. 257 or about an hour and 10 minutes on foot from the Butai-toge Pass bus stop to Otome Keikoku. There is a parking lot for about 20 cars in front and to the right of the central management building at Otome Keikoku campground. There are restrooms inside the building. Please submit your climbing registration form at the central management building. The Ni-no-tani route lies across the river that runs to the right of the management building, and follow the forest road from the management building for about 40 minutes to get to the San-no-tani route trailhead. The Ni-no-tani route continues along a wooden footpath for about two kilometers along the Otome Keikoku to Meoto Falls. The real mountain climbing trail starts here.
