Access to Nobeyama

【Sun Meadows Kiyosato Ski Resort: Trailhead to the main artery of South Yatsu-gatake, including the Aka-dake Kenkai Ridge Route and Shinkyo-dera Ridge Route.】

Nobeyama Station on the JR Koumi Line is famous for having the highest elevation of any train station in Japan. It stands at 1,345 meters. You will walk leisurely across the highland for more than two hours from here to reach the trailhead. If the timing is right, you can catch a bus from Kiyosato Station to Sun Meadows. To get to the trailhead from here, you can either ride the lift or walk 20 – 30 minutes. When traveling by car, turn left after Kiyosato. After passing through the Yatsu-gatake Highland Ranch, the trailhead is about 15 minutes by car from the national highway.
