【Trailhead to the North Yatsu-gatake peaks, including Mt. Kita-yoko-dake and Mt. Shimagare】
This is the entrance route to the main mountains of North Yatsu-gatake. If you take the ropeway to the summit station, you will see a lava plateau with colonies of alpine plants spread before you. This plateau is called Tsuboniwa.
Strolling around this area alone can be an enjoyable hike, but you can also use this as your starting point to hike the main peaks of Kita-Yatsu-gatake, including Mt. Shimagare, and continue hiking a little further to Mt. Tateshina-yama.
Parking： Accommodates about 600
Parking is free and the lot can be entered or exited around the clock, but if you plan to park your car here for four days or longer, please let the management office know.
