Access to Kamikochi

【From Shin-shima-shima, Sawando, Hirayu Onsen, Akandana to Kamikochi / Trailhead for Mt. Yari-gatake, Hotaka Mountains & Mt. Yake-dake】

From the Matsumoto side to the entrance to the Northern Alps, Kamikochi, if you take a train from Shinjima, if you drive a car, you will transfer to a bus at Sawando Parking.
From the Takayama side, you will take a bus from Takayama to Hirayu Bus Terminal and transfer, and if you drive a car, your will utilize bus access from the parking lot that is also in Hirayu Akandana Parking.
From each parking lot, it takes about 30 minutes by bus to Kamikochi Bus Terminal.
Operation in the Kamikochi business district is from late April to mid November. In winter, is closed from Kama tunnel.

Sawando parking lot: There are 4 municipal parking lots, space for about 1200 cars, and about 730 private parking lots, holding about 730 cars.

Public parking lots are available 24/7. The private sector is closed at night.

Akandana Car Park: There are also three municipal car parks, which can accommodate a total of 850 cars.
