Gonbee-toge Pass Road on Rte. 361 connecting the Ina and Kiso Valleys across the Kiso mountains in the Central Alps is a relatively new road that opened in 2006. Before the road opened, the pass was closed in winter, and even in summer, it took an hour and a half to cross. The trailhead, Gonbee-toge Pass, is on the old road. Enter the old road from the Kiso side entrance of the Gonbee Tunnel on Rte. 361. Driving for 15 minutes on the Ina side, you will come upon a place that opens on both sides. This place that is just a slight descent from Gonbee-toge Pass is the parking lot, and from here you will enter the mountain trail. From here, the old road is closed to cars.<\/p>\n
